Shift attendance for kitchens and floor staff
Kitchen and floor teams work different hours, take breaks mid-shift and move between outlets. Cadence keeps a shift for each, records every punch with a selfie and the outlet it was made at, and turns the month into salary.
What Cadence does for restaurants and cafés
A shift for every team
Define shifts with their own start and end times, grace minutes, half-day and full-day hours and weekly offs. Give one person their own schedule where they need it.
Shift changes from a date
Move someone to a new shift from the day you choose. Earlier days are still judged by the shift they were worked under.
Breaks between services
Turn on breaks and staff can punch out between lunch and dinner service and back in again, up to six times a day. Only the time on shift is counted.
Forgotten punch-outs, closed honestly
At the end of the shift an open day is closed automatically and marked “punch-out missed” — it is not quietly counted as a full day.
Every outlet
Each outlet is a location with its own geofence. Staff can be allowed at one outlet or several, and every punch shows where it was made.
Leave and week-offs
Staff ask for leave from the app and you approve it on your phone. Balances go down when leave is approved, so nobody has to keep count.
Is it right for you?
A good fit if
- A restaurant, café, bakery or cloud kitchen, or a group of outlets
- Teams on different shifts, with breaks in the middle of the day
- Staff who each carry an Android phone
Not a fit if
- Staff share one phone or tablet to punch in — Cadence has no shared kiosk yet
- You need tips or service charge shared out on the payslip
Suggested plan: Starter or Business
Starter (₹999/month for 20 staff) covers one outlet; Business (₹2,499/month for 25 staff) adds several outlets, payslip PDFs and the activity log.
14 days free on Starter and Business. Prices exclude GST.

Which attendance app works for restaurant shifts and split breaks?
Cadence handles separate shifts per team, per-person schedules and breaks: when the company turns breaks on, staff can punch out and back in up to six times a day and only the time on shift is counted. Every punch has a selfie and a GPS fix checked against the outlet’s geofence.
What happens when a waiter forgets to punch out?
At the end of the shift Cadence closes the open day and marks it “punch-out missed”, so it shows up for review instead of being counted as a full day. An admin can then correct it, and the correction is logged.
Can staff work at more than one outlet?
Yes. Each outlet is a location with its own geofence, and each person can be allowed at any set of outlets. The outlet is recorded with every punch.
